Image Steganography Using LSB and Encryption Keys for Safety of Sensitive Information
Abstract
In this digital era, secure transmission of sensitive data has become a concern among users. The authors have used the Least Significant Bit (LSB) technique with two encryption keys in this work. These keys help in improving the safety of sensitive data. The red channel in the LSB and combining two keys guide the concealing and retrieval process. Unlike cryptography, steganography hides secret data from the outside world. The sensitive data is concealed in the green and blue channels as the keys decide. The mechanism of the two keys adds randomness and complexity for unauthorized users. Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) is calculated to assess the proposed work—the proposed technique was found to be effective for secure image-based information embedding in many real-world applications.
