AI-Enhanced Women's Empowerment in Africa
Abstract
AI has the power to revolutionize society by presenting fresh chances for creativity and economic expansion. However, not everyone gains equally, particularly African women. Strong, gender-responsive policies are needed to channel AI’s potential into women’s access, skills, safety, finance, and leadership. Understanding the current situation and identifying important areas for intervention are essential to reducing its dangers and difficulties. The chapter provides results and suggestions on how the African continent might use AI applications and technology to improve access to economic opportunities, healthcare, education, and other sectors that can support women’s empowerment in the region. However, green HRM is the use of HRM policies to promote environmentally sustainable practices and responsible resource usage both inside an organization and, more generally, outside of it. We have just shown that there is a big opportunity for HR to consider using AI in their organizations when we consider the influence of AI on Green HRM. We have also seen that the market for technology and new vendors has experienced a massive boom. The following criteria were used to choose the articles for this chapter: English-language publications, journals and review papers, articles discussing HRM, green HRM, etc. The study’s conclusions indicate that AI is a crucial element which can support women entrepreneurship in African countries. Corporate environmental management and human resource management are being combined via green HRM. This work aims to highlight the next step in GHRM by applying AI, since the majority of research on HR-related topics concentrates on current HR practices. By incorporating AI into HR practices, policies, and perspectives, it is possible to increase the effectiveness of green human resource management for women’s empowerment in African continent. The study examines how AI is becoming more common in green HRM processes and its potential benefits in terms of screening candidates, engaging employees, re-engaging employees, and advancing careers without spending a lot of resources. As a result, organizations’ overall environmental effect will be reduced.
