Sampling for the Determination of the Moisture Content
Abstract
The logical analysis of techniques and methods used for the determination of the average moisture content of large lots of particulate materials shows in an unambiguous way that sampling and analysis are two inseparable aspects of a same problem of estimation. Moreover, it is the unappreciation of this evidence that is responsible for the many difficulties encountered during the determination of the moisture content and, to a large extent, for the bad reputation of this problem.
