Abstract
Parts A to D of this book deal with historical and present-day safety issues. Chapter 23 attempts to see into the future and briefly attempts to consider how previously identified problems may become serious issues in the future. Ageing plant and equipment are identified as a key issue. Finally, an attempt (perhaps more accurately a guess) at the technologies of the future has been made.
