Abstract

Chapter 2 is a short chapter describing the most common hazards in the process industries and lists strategies to minimise risk. Many of the topics are described in more detail in later chapters. The need to minimise environmental discharges is then reviewed and, finally, a short section highlights the fact that there is always a chance that something can “go wrong”.
