Basics of MATLAB and Python for Engineers
Abstract
This chapter provides an introduction to MATLAB and Python, two of the most popular programming languages used in engineering applications. They are also highly useful for performing routine mathematical analyses and visualizing data and information (e.g., [ 2 , 3 ]). MATLAB and Python are commonly employed as part of larger design toolsets used for calculating and developing various infrastructure projects, including bridges, sea defenses, railways, and skyscrapers, as shown in Figure 1.1 .
