High-speed camera-based methods for experimental and operational modal analysis
Abstract
High spatial density of information, achievable using full-field image-based vibration measurement methods, presents significant advantages in numerous fields such as structural health monitoring, model updating, and identification of structural parameters. However, accurately measuring full-field deflection shapes in high-frequency vibrations using conventional methods presents considerable challenges. The use of accelerometers yields limited spatial data, while laser vibrometers and electronic speckle pattern interferometry provide nonsimultaneous or partial displacement measurements, respectively.
