Abstract

In the past two decades, several methodologies and technological advancements have been explored and applied within the field of structural health monitoring (SHM). Among these, contactless technologies have gained increasing attention from civil engineers due to their ability to drastically reduce installation costs and efforts, as well as to avoid the interruption of functionality in the monitored structure or infrastructure. This is especially important when monitoring structures and infrastructure that serve as key transportation routes are difficult or unsafe to access or are part of cultural heritage.
