Anthropogenic Source of Xenobiotics and Its Bioaugmentation
Abstract
Xenobiotics, originating from human activities, present a considerable risk to both the environment and human health due to their long-lasting presence and toxic effects. Bioremediation, a sustainable approach, uses microorganisms’ metabolic capabilities to degrade these compounds. Bioaugmentation, a strategy involving specialized microorganisms, enhances degradation rates, improving remediation efficacy and contributing to environmental restoration and human well-being.
Fields of Study & Subjects
Microbial bioremediation and biosurfactants
Enzyme-mediated dye degradation
Pesticide and Herbicide Environmental Studies
