Synthesis of Metal–Organic Frameworks (MOFs)-Based Supercapacitors in Energy Storage
Abstract
Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) have gained significant attention in energy storage systems due to their remarkable properties, distinguishing them from other porous materials. These properties include enhanced electrochemical performance, tunable porosity, and a rich presence of active sites for reaction. Furthermore, their environmentally friendly nature has garnered considerable focus on developing efficient electrochemical energy storage systems. This chapter thoroughly explores the recent development in synthesizing MOFs and their application as electrode materials in supercapacitors. The initial part focuses on various synthesis methods, while the latter offers insights into different types of MOFs used as electrodes for supercapacitors. Finally, the chapter critically addresses current challenges and provides perspectives on the future to unlock the full potential of MOF-based electrodes.
