Abstract

Due to its interconnected nature, the implementation of Industry 5.0, which integrates physical and digital technologies, faces considerable challenges concerning cybersecurity. Security threats propagate across industrial networks at remarkable speeds, causing enormous economic and reputational harm. This study delves into these security threats with a goal to suggest countermeasures to ensure resilience and sustainability in future industrial settings. Furthermore, Industry 5.0 aims to offer solutions to societal challenges such as environmental sustainability, health, and the aging population, wherein AI, machine learning, and deep learning play their respective roles toward building adaptive and sustainable industrial ecosystems. The study also propounds that blockchain (BC) becomes a robust security enabler in the Industry 5.0 scenario, having characteristics like immutability, chronology, and auditability.
