Abstract

2D flexible supercapacitor is a class of supercapacitor that is designed to be thin, lightweight, and adaptable, incorporating two-dimensional (2D) materials such as graphene, MXenes, black phosphorus (BP), transition metal oxides (TMOs), transition metal hydroxides (TMOHs), and transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs). These materials are of interest owing to their exceptional electrical conductivity, mechanical flexibility, and large surface areas, which are keys in enhancing the performance of supercapacitors. These 2D flexible supercapacitors leverage flexibility and adaptability, high power density, lightweight and thin profile, and long cycle life. This chapter discusses the components, structural design, materials, fabrication process, and properties of 2D flexible supercapacitors. It also discusses the future challenges in 2D flexible supercapacitors.
