Abstract

The aerospace sector relies on materials which are safer, durable, and fully operational under extreme conditions. Sophisticated modeling is used to streamline processes of modifying aerospace materials, improving manufacturing processes, and accelerating the pace of innovation by reducing the reliance on traditional trial-and-error strategies. Structures, corrosion, and oxidation at high temperatures can all be accurately modeled with advanced computational tools such as finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics, and digital twin technologies. The accuracy of predictive models has significantly improved with the integration of AI and machine learning. This enhances predictive analysis for material lifespan, damage assessment, and new material development. The virtual reality-powered digital twins further enhance the accuracy with real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance during all phases of the life cycle. There is growing interest in aerospace materials that offer the capability to recycle or are of plant origin, new architected structures that are lightweight and possess high strength. The combination of modelling, AI-driven optimization, and digital twin frameworks is bringing aerospace material science into a new age. The next generation of aerospace engineering will be all about making materials that are lighter, more durable, and good for the environment.
