Abstract

In recent decades, there has been a surge of interest in developing advanced materials that can simultaneously support cleaner energy generation and environmental sustainability. Among these, perovskite materials possess remarkable flexibility and a broad range of functional properties, positioning them to be crucial in technologies such as photovoltaics, sensors, and catalysis. This chapter provides an overview of perovskite materials, starting with an analysis of their crystalline structures and extending to their classifications, including organic-inorganic hybrids, oxides, and halides. Furthermore, the chapter explores the magnetic, optical, and electronic properties that enable these materials to be integrated into cutting-edge devices. Thus, highlighting their potential to address contemporary technological and environmental challenges.
