Perovskite Nanoparticles
Abstract
Perovskite nanoparticles are particles with the perovskite crystal structure in the nanometric scale. First, we review the physical properties of perovskite nanoparticles which in turn pointed out several important applications in which perovskite nanoparticles can be used. Then, we review the different methods that can be used to synthesize perovskite nanoparticles. These methods include the hot injection method, the solvothermal method, the ligand-assisted reprecipitation method, the mechanochemical method, and the microwave method. Each one of these methods can be used to obtain perovskite nanoparticles of different size, size distribution, shape, and properties with ease. Finally, we review the main applications that are incorporating perovskite nanoparticles in the developments of new technologies. These applications include solar cells, light-emitting diodes, sensors, and the use of perovskite nanoparticles as photocatalytic materials.
