Metal Perovskite Oxides and Composites
Abstract
Metal perovskite oxides and their composites have attracted significant research attention owing to their structural flexibility, diverse chemical composition, and broad functional applications. This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of synthesis techniques, including solid-state reactions, hydrothermal, sol-gel, and solvothermal methods, which enable the tailored development of perovskite oxides with controlled morphologies and compositions. The discussion further explores their key properties, such as crystal structure, oxygen vacancy formation, and electronic band structures, which significantly influence their thermal stability, electrical conductivity, and catalytic activity. Moreover, the chemical versatility of metal perovskites, with their ability to incorporate various metal cations, is analyzed to demonstrate their role in optimizing material performance for specific applications. Furthermore, this chapter highlights the advanced applications of metal perovskite oxides and their composites in energy storage systems, photocatalysis, and other fields, offering valuable insights into their role in advancing sustainable technologies.
