Abstract
Semiconductors are among the materials with the biggest impact on everyday life, on which much of modern technology is based, from transistors to LEDs and photovoltaic panels. It is therefore an area of heavy investment in both fundamental and applied research, in multidisciplinary teams of physicists, chemists, materials scientists and engineers.
