Precursor for Diamond Synthesis and Superhard C3N4 Polymorph
Abstract
The conversion of g -C 3 N 4 to diamond under high pressure is explained by demonstrating the advantages of g -C 3 N 4 as a precursor. Some C 3 N 4 polymorphs are known to be superhard materials, and the conditions required to produce them are briefly outlined. Their hardnesses are compared with other materials using bulk modulus and Vickers hardness.
