Enhanced Routing in MANET Using Meta
Abstract
In the present era, wireless networks and mobile computing have fostered widespread adoption and continuous technological innovation. A main objective of MANETs (Mobile Ad hoc Networks) is to develop effective strategies for delivering packets between the source node and the intended destination node despite spontaneous changes in the network topology. Addressing these challenges requires the development of robust routing protocols capable of familiarizing themselves to the volatile and decentralized nature of MANETs. This paper introduces the Efficient Cuckoo Search Algorithm (ECSA) routing protocol for MANET, a novel on-demand routing protocol designed to improve routing performance by forming network clusters and dynamically selecting cluster chiefs for inter-cluster communication. By influencing the Cuckoo Search Optimization technique, ECSA optimizes routing tasks, enhancing key performance results that depend on the parameters, such as Throughput, End-To-End Delay, and Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR). Unlike traditional protocol classifications—Proactive (DSDV) and Reactive (AODV and DSR) routing protocols, ECSA combines the strengths of adapting routing intelligent network clustering to achieve admirable performance. The extensive practical results validate the efficiency of the ECSA routing protocol, highlighting its superiority in handling the key task of MANETs and optimizing routing tasks, thereby encouraging the development of robust and scalable solutions for mobile networking systems.
