Configural Frequency Selective Surface for Stealth Application
Abstract
Stealth technology, formerly referred to as low-observable technology, refers to a set of design strategies and materials that reduce the detectability of vehicles or objects by radar, infrared, sonar, or other detection technologies. It is primarily employed in military aircraft, ships, as well as missiles to lower their signature or detectable features, like radar cross-section (RCS), heat emissions, as well as sound, making them more difficult to spot or track. Stealth technologies employ frequency selective surfaces (FSSs), which reduce RCS by efficiently reflecting or absorbing electromagnetic radiation at specific frequencies. In the current work multiband FSS has been designed using CST software.
