Abstract

This review explores recent advancements in epoxy-enhanced bamboo nanocomposites, focusing on their synthesis, structure, and applications. Bamboo, known for its high strength-to-weight ratio and sustainability, has gained attention as a reinforcement in composite materials. Epoxy resins, valued for their superior mechanical properties and chemical resistance, serve as effective matrices. Incorporating nanofillers, such as nanoparticles and bamboo nanocellulose, into epoxy matrices significantly enhances thermal and mechanical performance. This review covers the preparation techniques, including mechanical milling, chemical treatments, and nanomaterial integration. Structural characterization methods like FTIR, SEM, XRD, and TEM provide insights into morphology and bonding. Thermal stability and viscoelastic properties are discussed, highlighting their suitability for high-performance applications. Industries such as automotive, aerospace, and construction benefit from the superior properties of these composites. Challenges such as scalability, cost-effectiveness, and sustainable processing are examined to enhance commercial viability. This review provides a comprehensive resource for researchers and industry professionals exploring the potential of bamboo in advanced composite materials.
