Introduction to Complex Algebra
Abstract
In nearly all areas of physics we will find it essential to be able to manipulate complex quantities. For example, quantum mechanical wave functions are generally complex quantities. In electronics, the impedances of some “reactive” elements, such as inductors and capacitors, are best described using complex algebra. It is safe to say you will not understand physics, beyond Newton's Laws, without being comfortable with complex algebra.
