Abstract

This chapter explores the real-life stories of women expatriates living in the USA. Their experiences are collected in interviews and analyzed through the lens of depth psychology, with a particular focus on Jungian and process-oriented psychology. Depth psychology approach creates space for exploration of this topic on the level of symbolic thinking and allows to draw from personal and collective mythologies. The aim of this study is to deepen the understanding and offer new perspectives on the feminine life path, often referred to in psychological literature as The Heroine’s Journey. By investigating the life journeys of female expatriates, this research introduces a novel perspective that clarifies the similarities and differences between feminine and masculine life quests (The Hero’s Quest) abroad, promotes inclusion, and supports women’s rights.
