Basic Performance Metrics for Machine Learning Models
Abstract
This chapter focuses on basic performance measures for machine learning models. In addition to the Summary, there are three sections. Section 15.1 introduces the confusion matrix and its derived measures. Section 15.2 illustrates how to calculate the basic performance measures using the caret package. Section 15.3 provides brief remarks on confusion matrix–derived measures.
