Abstract

The key to ethical behavior is honesty, fairness, and full disclosure. The top manager and leadership teams have to repeat that certain behaviors would not be tolerated. When selecting employees, engineering managers need to observe their attitude, as skills can more readily be updated. Managers themselves need to have developed interpersonal skills, communication skills, and be technically outstanding, managerially competent, and ethically sensitive. Most of engineering managers and leaders recruited based on promises to fix the low financial performance of companies but dismissed based on moral and ethical grounds ( Lunevich, 2024 ).
