Abstract

Sustainable wastewater management has become a global priority in the face of increasing water pollution caused by human activities. Demographic expansion, increasing urbanisation, and industrialisation have led to a significant deterioration in the quality of water resources. Domestic, agricultural, hospital, and industrial effluents contain a wide range of chemical compounds, some of which are barely or not at all eliminated by conventional treatment.
