Abstract

Nanotechnology is becoming an important technology in food processing since it opens new ways to make food safer, better, and more nutritious. This chapter discusses the many ways that nanotechnology can be used, from farming to industry. Nanotechnology brings new ideas to food processing that make old ones work better. Nanoparticles that kill germs keep food safe and let it last longer. This chapter also talks about how nanotechnology has revolutionised the way food is stored. Nanomaterials change when the environment changes are used in active packaging systems. Smart packaging with nanosensors lets people monitor the quality of their food. There is still more to research about the health risks of consuming nanoparticles, specifically how they might harm important organs and cell structures. Nanotechnology could help address the growing global demand for safe and healthy food by coming up with new ways to make food safer, healthier, and more nutritious. To fully benefit from this technology, the food company needs to do further research and development to deal with safety and regulatory issues. Finally, this chapter talks about how nanotechnology has changed the way food is made, from the field to the factory.
