Design considerations for electric machines in IoT-based parking infrastructure
Abstract
This study proposes an innovative smart parking system based on NodeMCU and Arduino platforms, aimed at addressing secure and efficient parking management and entry system in educational institutions and other organizations. The system integrates radio frequency identification (RFID) scanners to identify user and employs a dual-priority scheduling mechanism: First Come First Serve (FCFS) for regular users and priority-based scheduling for VIP users. Additionally, RFID technology is used for charge deduction and user identification, differentiating between regular and VIP users. By leveraging Internet of Things (IoT) technology, the system provides real-time monitoring of parking space availability, optimizing space utilization, and minimizing user search time. Furthermore, the system enhances organizational security with a secure entry mechanism. The Arduino UNO and NodeMCU automate parking slot allocation, while the integration of a GSM module offers heightened security by sending alerts if unauthorized access attempts are detected. This study presents a comprehensive solution for automated, secure parking and entry management, ensuring efficient space utilization and enhanced security.
