Abstract

In the preceding chapters, A-T and T-A-T types of frequency selective rasorbers (FSRs) were explored. However, for effective suppression of out-of-band radar cross-section (RCS) in radiating systems, A-T-A configurations, featuring transmission within an absorption band on both sides, are more advantageous. This chapter focuses on designing a compact, polarization-insensitive A-T-A rasorber with a high-Q transmission band, tailored for electromagnetic shielding and RCS reduction in narrowband radiators. As a practical application, the proposed high-Q A-T-A FSR is integrated as a radome over a patch antenna operating at the same frequency as the rasorber’s passband. This co-designed system is experimentally validated, demonstrating significant out-of-band RCS suppression while preserving the in-band radiating performance.
