Abstract

Repeated measurements can occur when there is a longitudinal follow-up of patients with repeated visits to measure the same marker. We therefore get multiple values of a marker associated with each individual at different time points. It is common in health research to observe repeated measurements of one or multiple markers of interest. Beyond the direct interest in these markers, they can sometimes capture some important information about the heterogeneity of the data, which can be taken into account when analyzing the risk of an event (see Chapter 4 ).
