Abstract

One of the most foreboding challenges management faces is the effective and efficient artificial intelligence (AI) implementation process. While this chapter addresses project management, its focus is AI-specific issues such as The Problem Statement, use of Scientific Management, and other area rather than a rehash of project management techniques. Solid project management is critical, and it is review, yet readers are pointed to a significant body of knowledge that the Project Management Institute and others make available. One of the most important concerns faced is the development of The Problem Statement. In other words what are using AI to solve. The chapter addresses this in detail as well as project risk mitigation and user guardrails. Moreover, technology readiness is review and since AI is still immature technology, the fit for each firm may be somewhat different and probably based on the organization's risk appetite level.
