Abstract

Evaluation and design of RF passive components, transmitting modules, and receiving modules have been presented in several publications, see [ 1 – 12 ]. Monolithic microwave integrated circuit technologies (MMIC) and microwave integrated circuits (MIC) are employed to produce compact RF modules. It is better to design filters by using MIC technology. However, the production of miniature and low-cost modules in mass production is achieved by using MMIC design. We can use the advantages and disadvantages of each technology in the development of RF modules. Design considerations of passive and active devices will be presented in this chapter. Passive and active RF components are used in energy harvesting modules, e.g., power combiners, splitters, diodes, resistors, amplifiers, and other components.
