Abstract

This conclusion briefly summarizes the main results from this study. In addition, a short meta-reflexive remark is added to the discussion, which points to the observation that a lot of research exploring technological advancements relies on the narrative that the technology has its own agency or created itself or that it led the way. Understandably, those research approaches respond to the popular posthuman wish to develop an anti-anthropocentric thinking. In terms of technological developments, this focus on technology can, however, be misleading. This is why this chapter, even if only briefly, explicitly addresses why this study has put the people behind the technology into the focus of the investigation: To have diverse technology and to truly adopt an anti-anthropocentric mindset when developing it, it is necessary to first acknowledge the anthropocentric character of the technology and thus take into account how and why humans create it.
