Abstract

Engineering failures, increased operational costs, and environmental problems are major challenges faced by the aerospace and automotive industries owing to corrosion. Most traditional corrosion defense solutions depend on harmful chemicals, including hexavalent chromium, posing both safety hazards to humans and problems for the environment. The chapter demonstrates sustainable corrosion protection approaches that fulfill industry regulations as well as environmental standards. The text examines modern corrosion-resistive materials alongside green inhibitive substances as well as nanotechnical implementations and biological sourcing, which combine protective strength with environmentally friendly property features. The chapter investigates industrial deployments of environmentally friendly corrosion defense solutions, new market directions, and associated lifecycle assessment frameworks. Recent innovations and case studies demonstrate effective approaches by which the aerospace and automotive sectors can deploy high-performance sustainable corrosion protection for their upcoming operations.
