Abstract

In this chapter, we see how botanical extracts can help with sustainable farming practices. Environmental issues and the desire for more secure food are causing plant-based agrochemicals to become more popular. Botanical extracts taken from plant materials, for example, leaves, roots and seeds, have substances that work as biocides. When used in agriculture, they support plant growth by keeping pests and diseases away, keeping soil strong, safe and healthy and lowering pollution. Researchers point out that widely used extracts such as neem and garlic are effective against pests, while supporting good organisms and enhancing crop production. Additionally, these natural methods are more secure for farmers&s; and consumers&s; health and are affordable, mainly for smallholder farmers. Challenges connected to the designing, formulating and approval of botanical products are addressed in the review. The industry helps by supporting more research, offering aid from the government and sharing data to promote the use of solar power. All in all, the chapter argues that botanical products are important in shifting farming toward more productivity, safer environmental standards and better health for people. Beneficial insects help control pests and support our crops, which makes our food systems more environmentally friendly and durable.
