Abstract

Ingescape is a hands-on solution for model-based human–systems integration (MBHSI), already in use on large-scale HSI projects in various industrial domains, such as transportation, defense, energy, and aerospace. Ingescape solves significant challenges around multidisciplinary and iterative approaches in HSI by consistently combining models from model-based system engineering (MBSE), business process modeling, software development, data serialization, etc., around a federating environment supporting digital continuity during the whole project lifecycle, from early design phases to post-deployment activities. This paper illustrates how the Ingescape platform deals with interoperability in heterogeneous systems of systems (SoS), to make them interactively observable, actionable, measurable, and verifiable at all times, based on their models. It demonstrates how this capability offers new opportunities to multidisciplinary teams to continuously improve the models, the requirements, the validation strategies, and, of course, the underlying systems during projects. Ingescape actively addresses the design, development, integration, verification, validation, and qualification (IVVQ) of organizations, workflows, functional and structural architectures, distributed behaviors, interface contracts, and context injection. These elements are progressively and reliably aggregated in flexible platforms combining model executions, hybrid simulations, digital twins, software, and hardware infrastructures, so humans and artificial intelligence (AI) are always kept in the loop.
