Abstract

This chapter presents a comprehensive model for integrating human–system integration (HSI) and cognitive science to improve public digital infrastructure, using the Gavedu PM-WANI initiative as a case study. The model harmonizes human cognitive processes with artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance usability, scalability, security, and accessibility in digital ecosystems. It explores cognitive trust, user-centric authentication, adaptive system design, and blockchain-based fraud prevention. The research addresses the sociotechnical challenges of digital inclusion and proposes cognitive consonance as a framework for secure, human-aligned AI systems. The chapter offers a transformative vision for AI-augmented public infrastructure designed with human cognition at its core.
