Abstract

This chapter describes the challenges and opportunities emerging for engineering copilots , human/artificial intelligence (AI) teaming systems designed to bridge the gap between engineers inexperienced in a discipline and the tools and practices of that discipline. Principal design challenges discussed are (1) the trustworthiness of products produced in teaming with an engineering copilot, and (2) the use of domain-specific languages to foster collaboration and empower users to learn more about the discipline and technology that is the subject of a mentoring relationship.
