Abstract

The advent of smart technology has dramatically altered the landscape of modern life, permeating our daily routines with innovations ranging from voice-activated devices to sophisticated image recognition. Engineering has emerged as a revolutionary force in contemporary healthcare due to the quick advancement of technology, which has made it possible to create life-saving medical gadgets, diagnostic tools, and cutting-edge treatment approaches. With an emphasis on fields including robotic-assisted surgery, electronic health records, real-time diagnostics, telemedicine, biosensors, biomechanics, and genetic engineering, this chapter examines the various ways that engineering technologies are transforming patient care. These developments have substantially increased the precision of diagnoses, made customized treatment regimens possible, improved patient safety, and decreased medical expenses. But there are drawbacks to the integration of these technologies as well, mainly in the areas of data protection, legal compliance, and fair access to technology.
