Introduction to IPv6
Abstract
The initial design of IPv4 did not anticipate many of the problems discussed in this section. After many decades of use, IPv4 was later seen as having a number of significant limitations and not capable of supporting the continuous growth of the Internet and its increasing number of users well into the future. IPv4 is discussed in greater detail in Appendix B of this book.
