Introduction to Digital Twin
Abstract
This chapter describes the basics of digital twin (DT) as a key process analysis model for the successful implementation of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). It discusses the major advantages of the implementation of digital twin and describes various components of DT and their development. Further, the development of process simulation, including an example of feed characterization, is discussed. This chapter concludes with a typical DT of a process unit.
