Abstract

The field of healthcare remains one of the most pivotal sectors dedicated to delivering precise and prompt medical interventions, which are critical for the well-being of individuals. In light of the rapid technological advancements that have been witnessed in recent years, nanosensors have emerged as an innovative tool that has significantly facilitated not only the early diagnosis of various diseases but also the continuous monitoring of these ailments with remarkable accuracy and efficiency. Owing to their unparalleled capability to identify both molecular and cellular alterations within the human body, these nanosensors are proficient in detecting disease biomarkers, even in the nascent stages of the illness, thereby providing clinicians with extensive insights into the physiological state of patients, particularly in relation to intricate and financially burdensome diseases such as cancer. Nevertheless, this promising technology is not without its challenges; issues pertaining to the biocompatibility of nanosensors, their long-term stability when subjected to biological environments, the potential for immune system reactions, and the risk of sensor degradation must be thoroughly addressed and navigated. The present chapter undertakes a comprehensive identification of these challenges while simultaneously evaluating innovative methodologies associated with this cutting-edge technology, achieved through a systematic review of the applications and implications of nanosensors within the healthcare landscape. By scrutinizing the existing literature and synthesizing findings, the chapter aims to illuminate both the potential benefits and the hurdles faced in the integration of nanosensors in medical practice. Ultimately, this exploration seeks to contribute to the ongoing discourse surrounding the efficacy and reliability of nanosensor technology in enhancing healthcare outcomes.
