Abstract

When it comes to theragnostics, a new class of materials that combines treatment with diagnostics to provide a more individualized approach to healthcare is polymeric nanocomposites. With an emphasis on their design, synthesis, functionalization, and applications, this chapter delves into the novel terrain of theragnostic polymeric nanocomposites. It explores the special features of polymeric nanocomposites that make them great for imaging, drug administration, targeting, and tracking the effectiveness of treatments in real time. This chapter provides an overview of the most recent developments in the development of polymeric nanocomposites, including topics such as their biocompatibility, nanostructural properties, and methods used to accomplish controlled release and targeted distribution. The incorporation of imaging agents into these systems for the purpose of both diagnosis and treatment is a particular focus. This chapter seeks to provide a thorough overview of the present and future of polymeric nanocomposites in the field of theragnostics, highlighting their potential to transform personalized medicine.
