Abstract

This chapter has seventeen puzzles. There are three types of puzzles: no shape-based puzzles (with triangles, circles, etc.), general shape-based puzzles (with a wave and a rabbit), and Japanese shape-based puzzles (with a ninja, a tofu, etc.). The puzzles ask about the lengths of line segments, the areas of shapes, the fraction of a shape that is painted in a certain color/colour, the size of an angle, and the heights of shapes. The Japanese shape-based puzzles have a section called “Did you know?” that shows some little curiosities about that shape. Some words are different in American English and British English referring to the same thing, such as “center” (US) and “centre” (UK). In these cases, you will see written the US/UK words, for example “center/centre”.
