Abstract

This opening chapter introduces the readers to the subject ergonomics and its role in politics in election. It highlights the subject at a systems level indicating where in the system the weak linkages are and how ergonomics can make these weak links robust. The reader is taken through different examples through fictitious characters, and the role of ergonomics in each and every stage of the political system is explained in detail. It then explains the role of a politician and the ergonomic issues in them and also indicates how a good politician could be developed through the application of ergonomic principles. The chapter lastly indicates how ergonomics can position itself in the political system, what exactly it can offer to the society and how the entire political system of any country could be made better so that the common people benefit.
