Systems thinking in ecology education: Modelling ecosystems
Abstract
This paper explores and describes the difficulties in ecology teaching and learning in upper secondary schools, especially in the Netherlands, and how teaching and learning ecology could be improved, using systems thinking and modelling as tools. An outline for a learning and teaching strategy to reach such an improvement is offered.
