Behavior of compound shell under detonation loading
Abstract
The compound shell under the action of detonation loading is investigated. The deformation state is formulated taking into account the high strain rate and the adiabatic temperature process resulting from plastic strain. The mathematical model is developed and compared with the results of experiments. The relevant initial-boundary value problem for the protective container is formulated, and the numerical solution is obtained by the finite-difference method. The results presented here allow one to determine the level of dynamic loading at which the structure still keeps its service capacity.
