Vibrations of thin cylindrical shells with non-stiff connection between ribs and panelling
Abstract
The vibrations of a cylindrical shell reinforced by ribs connected to the panelling by the flexible links, are considered. The problem is solved by the finite element method. Both the panelling and the ribs are modeled by the flat quadrilateral shell elements, derived by superposition of the plane stress state and the bending one. The influence of the links rigidity on the natural vibration frequencies and eigenmodes has been analyzed.
