Mechanical aspects of flight in the lower stratosphere
Abstract
The paper gives a general introduction to the topic of High Altitude Platforms. The efficiency and application possibilities of airships, airplanes and different propulsion technologies in this field are compared. A flexible airship concept is reviewed in detail.
