Abstract

The paper deals with reliability-based multicriteria discrete optimization of spatial trusses. The decision variables taken into account during the optimization analysis are cross-sections of the truss members and parameters creating geometry of a structure, namely: shape, depth and rise of a truss, number of modular divisions, etc. To simplify the problem, decomposition techniques are applied. Three criteria of evaluation are analyzed – minimum of the mass of the cover, minimum of the maximum node displacement and maximum of the reliability level. The reliability of a structure is expressed by the Hasofer–Lind reliability index β . Solution of the problem is the set of nondominated solutions X ND and corresponding nondominated evaluations Y ND . The preferred solution is selected from the set X ND according to an additional criterion.
